BACK IN THE UNITED STATES

Hello friends.
I have missed you all.
It is almost hard to believe that as I write this post I am back home. The last month have been for me a whirlwind of emotions, changes and having to make very difficult decisions.

I arrived to Madrid, Spain after a 23 hour trip to find my dad had gone into a coma. He developed an infection after the hip surgery and his kidneys started to shut down.
But being the strong man he always was, he pulled through and came back to us, only not the same person he has been his whole life. Since the year and a half I had not seen my dad, the changes were amazing and so hard to believe.

I stayed in Spain for over two weeks and when I left, my dad's health had improved so much and he was even smiling and moving around on his own. I felt very reassured about leaving and getting back home to my husband and kids.

Just a couple of days after I got home, I received a call from my family that once again he had taken a turn for the worst, only this time it was even more serious.

My dad passed away the morning of June 14th and I did not have enough time to fly back and make it on time to see him. In Spain, funeral and burial happens within 24 hours of death. I couldn't find an airplane ticket that fast at this time of the year that would bring me back home on time to say goodbye.

I am destroyed with grief. This is the hardest thing I have had to endure in my life. Who would of told me when I kissed and hugged my daddy the day I left that it would be the last time I would see him.

I will get back to blogging eventually, but not now.
I need time to heal and come to terms with this loss.Thank you all for understanding.
Please, keep our family in your prayers, specially my mom that has just loss her husband and best friend of 55 years.
XOXO

I know and understand how sad you are, and I know God will heal your broken heart on his time schedule. I'm sure it does not make you feel at peace just yet, but I truly believe God wanted you to see your father in good spirits and feeling well....knowing it would be your last time together.
